Ninety-year-old successful businessman Gernot Steinfels dies, and his employees are tasked with arranging a dignified funeral worthy of the builder of a corporate empire. A minor detail on the funeral ribbon, however, sets off an unbelievable avalanche of misunderstandings, “culture wars”, suspicion, intergenerational disputes and absurd conflicts, which quickly escalate into a grotesque spiral of accusations, offended morality, argumentative fallacies and traps. With lightness and irony, authors Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob show how fragile our certainty about “what is right” really is, and how easily contemporary social debate can turn into a caricature of itself. The production will be presented as a Prague premiere.
